The Frosty Mountain
Location
The Frosty Moutain exists beyond the borders of the adventurers known world. It is surrounded on all sides by a barren and hostile dessert. No matter where on the border you stand the dunes stretch out beyond the eye's reach.
Description
A solitary mount isolated from the surrouding desert by great walls of violent wind. The peak of the mountain is sheer and jagged, as are the soutern and western faces, while the north and west of the moutain host gentle plateu like slopes. It is here that the mountain is most densly inhabited by fauna, flora and civilisation.
There are 3 Great Silos and 3 Great Farms that ring the peak in a hexagonal arrangement. There is a fourth Great Silo, larger than the others that is situated in the center of the moutain. Here at the foot of this Great Silo lies the capital city, etched into the side of the moutain. It's step curtain wall crowing the peak and ringing the silo.
History
Once the mountain mixed harmoniously with its surrounds, blending into the frigid lands. The climate of the region was disrupted by the meddling of competing mages. A harsh desertification ensued. In response the Church of Nature orchestrated one of their greatest miracles, blending the hard work of their followers with the intervention of the gods to create the climate control system. Once this work was completed the Frosty Mountain became the heart of the Church.
The mountain, and it's magical climate control were mainted for an age, even after the Church of Nature fractured and faded into obscurity. One day, without explanation their prayer faded and the battery started to drain. In time another people appeared on the mountain and inhabited the ruins, overlaying them with their own culture and practices.
In time a collection of cults sought to restore the church, and inevitably each turned it's eye to the seat of their former glory. One by one missionary groups started appearing on the mountain, each with their own method, but all with the same objective.
